Week #22 on Red Hill Farm, by Angela

Week #22--two more weeks after this week.

This is a Full-Share and Friday Bi-Weekly Share Pickup week.

Brrrr, chilly, brrrr--the chill of fall has set in upon us. Which in turn shall make our fall crops all the more tasty as their starches convert to sugars as their own way of coping with the frost. We're still taking sign-ups for the cooking demo on Nov. 9th (see below).

Big and Small Fall, by Angela

Brussels sprouts in the morning sun
Big and small, the fall is shaping up nicely. We've still got about a month and a half of the CSA to come. With it are the fall delights of greens, roots, broccoli, and friends.
Itty-bitty beets

Super-baby carrots
As a farm crew, we've had the opportunity to visit other farms throughout this season, and with that comes a bit of comparing, a bit of cameraderie, and doses of humility, as most farmers would agree that there is a never-ending tunnel of learning that comes with growing food. (And a never-ending menu of possible recipes to enjoy--hee hee hee)
Baby escarole
Chinese cabbage
Lush radicchio (an Italian green)
